Have you noticed how department stores and kids clothing shops are always packed with the latest pink frilly number for girls, while the boy’s shelves are left looking drab in comparison? Well we’re pleased to announce that this has just changed in Canberra, with the launch of a brand new store, treating kids equally by spoiling boys with their own exclusive selection of the latest and greatest in kid’s fashion designed specifically for them.

CACKLEBERRY KIDS & FRIENDS in Fyshwick is proudly showcasing CACKLEBERRY KIDS, a beautiful and unique range made from 100% organic cotton, wool and silk blends.

Recently opening its doors to the movers and shakers in Canberra’s under six community, the store is a purpose designed space, creating a trendy destination for stylish local kids.

Canberra mum and CACKLEBERRY KIDS founder, Kylie Petroni, wanted more options when it came to dressing her son. Recognising a niche in the market she was inspired to create a range of clothing catered exclusively for the “little man.’

“We stock some of the best brands in Australian and New Zealand kid’s fashion for girls and boys,” says Kylie. “I often find boys are forgotten when it comes to funky designer gear, but they enjoy wearing cool clothes too, so with this in mind I created a space that recognises the mud pie making bug collecting little man in your life.”

Drawing from her experience as a Director of the Petroni Group -a corporate uniform specialist- Kylie is enjoying her new creative freedom. “The corporate clothing industry can be restrictive in terms of the industries we work with,” says Kylie. “But with Cackleberry I am free to design and incorporate colour and flair. And what’s great is that little boys have no fear of textures and patterns and are willing to give anything ago.”

Wholly Australian owned, designed and made, CACKLEBERRY KIDS officially launched online in 2007. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength, appointing agents in New York, Los Angeles and Toronto, while also exporting to New Zealand and Asia.

“Our garments are made with love and care for boys aged three months to six years,” says Kylie. “to complement our own range in store we also stock a beautiful selection of products from other top kids’ designers including Miatom, Mini Mermaids, Three Little Trees, Petit, What I Wish I knew Before I Became a Mother and Mee a Bee, plus New Zealand brands Little Pearls and Stickytiki.
